IC:

Character name: Ariel
Fandom: The Little Mermaid
Timeline: Just after she turns human and learns to stand.
Age: 16
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
Well, while she does not have anything ~magical~ about her, she does have the most beautiful singing voice... or at least she did. From her canon point her voice has been taken by the sea witch and therefore cannot speak.
How would they use their abilities?:
She won't, unless there is a magical way she can gain her voice back, she can't sing nor speak.
Appearance:
Ariel has long red hair that reaches down to at least the bottom of her back. She also has big bright blue eyes. She is rather skinny at the hipes and waist.

Clothes wise she will be appearing in nothing but what Scuttle cooked up for her, which was basically a sail tied up with rope. So it looks a little off. When she was a mermaid though she came with purple sea shells covering her important areas as well as a bright green fin.
Background/Personality:
Personality:
It has been shown that Ariel is able to adapt pretty easily and quickly to new things. For example when she first gets turned into a human, the canon point she is coming from since she isn't use to having legs she would fall over, but this didn't last very long as she soon learns quickly how to stand. As mentioned this shows that she can adapt to her new surroundings, but this doesn't mean she is smart, as shown when she doesn't know what basic humans things such as a fork are used for. This was due to what a seagull told her and it was the wrong information.

One thing Ariel does have is curiosity about the human world, which is different than what she is use to. This has been known to be a problem with her father as he doesn't want anyone in his kingdom to go to the surface due to the humans, but Ariel defies that in a massive way as she goes and collects stuff that can be found in sunken ships and even going to the surface, just so she can see things from that world. This curious side to her mixes in with another part of her personality and that is her adventurous side, she does seem to go to some dangerous places just to discover what sunken ships might hold for her to add to her 'collection' of things that she keeps.

She can be stubborn when she needs to be, especially when she is arguing with her father over things such as where she was during the concert. This adds to the fact she feels trapped due to the fact her father can be a little protective, or over protective of her which could be adding to why she wants to go see the human world, tell her she can't do something and in the end she tends to do it no matter what others say. This has been shown in her stubbornness when going to see the sea witch and Flounder and Sebastian were trying to talk her out of it, but she didn't and ended up losing her voice because of it.

Another thing about Ariel is the fact that she can go to places that are seemingly really scary and doesn't react much to do, instead she goes in head first in order to find what it is she is looking for. May it be something from the human world, or even if it's to go to some place she had been told previously not to go here, she is certainly brave enough to go there no matter what. This can also mean she is very adventurous to as she likes to explore new places and find new things every time.

With all this to her personality, Ariel can also be a kind person and believes during the movie that not all humans can be bad, she even goes as far as to stick up for them, this shows that even though she doesn't know about that world, she believes that they aren't all bad, more so after she first saw her love Eric. Over all Ariel is just a girl who longed to for what she knew she shouldn't and when she first saw Eric that longing to be 'Part of that world' was made even more noticeable by others around her.

Background:
While there was a concert going on, which Ariel should have been at as she was one of the singers, she herself had instead gone to a sunken ship in order to see if there was anything there for her to collect and take back to her secret place with all of her other collections. While there with her best friend, a fish named Flounder and after Ariel had managed to get a couple of human artifacts, they are attacked by a shark, but thankfully, they both managed to escape.

Still forgetting that she was meant to be at the concert Ariel instead goes to see the seagull, Scuttle, who is also a friend and someone who gives her information on the stuff she finds, although most of it is usually untrue. She showed him the fork and the pipe that she had managed to get at the ship before the shark attack and he explains to them what he thinks they are and since he's above the surface, Ariel believes him. When the mention of music comes about, this is when Ariel realizes that she was meant to have gone to sing at a concert and takes her belongings and goes back to the palace to face her father.

Upon returning to the palace she is met by her father, who both he and Sebastian, a crab that is very close to the king tell her off for not going to the concert, but it was only made worse when Flounder interrupted and explained what they had been up to and the fact that they went above water to speak to a seagull. This made her father more angry and when mentioning the fact she could have been seen by humans, she defended them saying that they aren't barbarians like he thinks they are. After the argument Ariel swam off, back to her private grotto where she keeps all the things she finds that once belonged to humans.

This had been discovered by Sebastian, who threatened to tell her father, but thankfully for her he doesn't. Instead as they are about to return back, a ship passes over head. Ariel swims up to the surface to investigate the ship, only to find a young Prince Eric on board and she seems to like him very much. Soon a storm came and the ship caught on fire. Ariel managed to save Eric and made sure he was safe, but quickly left when he started to wake up, only be able to catch a brief glance at her before then.

The next day and Ariel is as happy as a calm, in a very cheerful and dreamy mood in front of not only her sisters, but also her father which makes them realize that Ariel is in love with someone. Soon she is found picking at a water type flower and doing the 'Loves me, loves me not' thing. When it gets to love me she appears to be rather happy and soon she is trying to plan for another way to get to the service and to be able to see him again, but this is stopped by Sebastian who tells her all about the wonders of being able to live under the sea. During the song of course Ariel manages to get away when Flounder comes for her.

They return to her secret grotto and Flounder shows her the statue of the man she had seen on the ship. This made her really happy, that was until her father had found out about the place and went there, and after having an argument and Ariel admitting that she loved the human, he destroyed everything she had managed to gather from the outside world. This made her upset and caused her to cry. This is where Flotsam and Jetsam, two servants that worked for Ursula and told her that there was a way that she could join Eric and be on the land.

She agreed to go and when she did, didn't listen to Sebastian or Flounder when they were trying to stop her from going. When she arrived, she made a deal with her in that she will be human for three days and within those three days she has to get Eric to kiss her, if she does she will stay human forever which is something Ariel wants. If she doesn't manage to do it, then she turns back into a mermaid and she will belong to Ursula forever. The cost of this though was her beautiful voice, which she gives up in exchange. When the exchange was complete and she was turned into a human, Flounder and Sebastian quickly got her up to the surface since she now couldn't breath underwater.

Once she reached land, she tried to stand up and to start with failed with the simple matters of standing up and also walking, but she soon managed that quickly as Scuttle managed to eventually dress her with a sail and some rope that was close by. This is where I am taking her from.

Why should that character be in this game: For OCs only.

Why do you want to continue their history here: For characters from other games only.

For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play:

Have you read up on how the game works?:
Yep, FlamingFerret is the network and people get money by being bums off one another, getting a job each month or if you really have to, you can nick it.

1st person sample:
[The guide switches on to reveal a red haired girl simply staring at the guide, a teeth grinning smile upon her face, she wasn't sure what this was and given the fact she had never been told of such a thing like is was simply interesting piece of equipment. She sits down happily on the floor, pressing whatever buttons were on the guide, as she soon pressed the button and switched it off, then on again a moment later.

It wasn't long until she paused slightly, trying to figure what this piece of machinery was, before sighing when she couldn't figure it out at all. She placed the guide down as she sorted her hair, making sure that it was fine before she spotted that people were walking by. Picking up the guide again she goes over to someone, tripping up a couple of times along the way as she soon opened her mouth to speak but soon she realised she cannot talk still.]

Is something wrong?

[Ariel noddeded slightly, before pointing to where her voice box should be before patting it lightly.]

You can't talk? Do you have a problem or something?

[Ariel shook her head slightly as the person had walked off, leaving Ariel standing there, the feed switching off.]

3rd person sample:
Ariel had managed to find her new room upon the ship. It may have taken her a while due to her inability to speak, but she eventually got there. Tired from her little adventure with her new human legs, she smiled, laying down on the bed, which to her felt really soft and rather comfortable. Curling up on it slightly she held the pillow between her arms, feeling more of the softness upon her cheek as she laid there for a few more moments.

While she did miss her home, her sisters, her friends, her possible love interest and even at this point her father, it was also a new exciting thing to learn about, after all there are humans here and she can learn more about the world that they live in compared to hers. Letting go of the soft pillow, she slowly stood up and decided for now to explore this place. Making sure her legs were stable enough she slowly started to walk from her room into the next part of the place. Curious as she was she looked to see that there were other rooms within one area.

Ariel looked on confused for a moment before she went to explore more, noticing names and such as she went by. That's when she saw something, out of the corner of her eye she spotted something that she recognized and knew exactly what it was. It was a dinglehopper, it was something she had found not only a few days ago back in her world. Excited as she was she rushed over to it, picking it up to study it closer, in hopes that it was really one of those dinglehoppers.

Her fingers traced the outline of the object within her grasp as her smile slowly spread across her face, excited that they had those here. The first thing she wanted to do now was test it out and see if it worked as well as she thought it would do, so placing the object within her hair, she started to brush. It was a nice feeling and it did what she was told, it was used for hair and right now that was exactly how it was working.

Questions?: Would there ever be a way for Ariel to get her voice back? Or would she always be a mute, even after three days? Same would be said about her being a mermaid again.
